Camp Joy Day 4

TODAY IS WATER DAY!!!!!

Every year at camp, there is at least one day that is the water day.  A large piece of plastic is rolled out, a hose-pipe is added and then baby shampoo or washing-up liquid is added to the slide.  The kids love slipping and sliding down the slide and challenge each other to make it to the end.  I don't know who has a better time at this, the Tent Leaders and Preachers or the children!!!  It is always a highlight of the week and this year was no different:)
The adults, of course, had to try the slide first to be sure it was okay for the kids to come down.....it was fabulous!
The "games guy" Natalio Ortiz came down and all of the ladies took the opportunity to get back at him for his past pranks.  Taz was soaking wet and each of us ladies doused him with a cup of flour.  The water caused the flour to feel like a nice coating of clay:)  Taz said later that he was picking the flour off his scalp for days! lol
As always, the kids thoroughly enjoyed the day even though the weather was a bit on the chilly side.  They even got to cheer on their tent leader in various water fights at the end of the slide.
After the evening service, the kids got to enjoy a raging bon-fire.  The adults roasted marshmallows and the kids enjoyed as many s'mores as their little tummies could stand.  We topped off the night with whipped cream games from the Tent Leaders and "Chubby Bunny" competitions.  "Chubby Bunny" you have to put a marshmallow in your mouth and be able to say "chubby bunny" after each one.  The goal is to beat your opponent by putting more marshmallows in your mouth than them.  Blessing was able to do 10 large marshmallows!  I am one proud mama! lol
All in all, another wonderful day at Camp Joy.  A long day, but with many smiling kids - well worth every effort.  So wonderful to see the kids making friends, but most important is the way they listen to every word in the chapel services and remember the messages given from day to day.  That is really what it is all about!!!  God is good!
